Excessive Heat Coming to NYC Friday, Temps To Hit 100 Degrees

It’s hot, and it’s about to get hotter.

The National Weather Service has released an Excessive Heat Watch and Heat Advisory for New York City Friday. Increasing heat and humidity will combine to produce maximum heat index values of 100 to 105 F for most of the area late Friday morning into early evening.

The heat wave is expected to stick around over the weekend.

Isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms are possible Friday afternoon into evening as well. A moderate to High Risk of Rip Current development has also been announced at ocean beaches on Friday
