New York City Agrees To Pay $17.5M IN Religious Head Covering Class Action Settlement
New York City agreed to a $17.5 million religious head covering settlement to resolve claims it unlawfully removed head coverings for post-arrest photographs.
The settlement benefits individuals who were forced to remove a religious head covering for a post-arrest photograph while in New York City Police Department custody between March 16, 2014, and Aug. 23, 2021.
