Heavy Rain, Possible Flooding Expected Over The Second Days of Yom Tov

by CrownHeights.info

Rain may be the sign of blessing, but it may still cause flooding.

Three inches of rain is forecast to fall in New York City over the second days of Yom Tov with as much as five inches in local areas, leading to a warning of potential flash flooding.

“New Yorkers: periods of heavy rain and potential flooding are forecast late tonight into tomorrow,” New York City Mayor Eric Adams wrote on social media. “We’ve activated the City’s Flash Flood Emergency Plan, proactively staging resources and teams.”

The rain is expected this evening as a cold front moves in, potentially overloading the already saturated ground and creating the potential for the flash floods.

CrownHeights.info reminds everyone to check their drains and ensure they are clear of leaves and debris as the rain begins.
