Break out those extra layers because a cold winter is going to get even colder.

The National Weather Service has published an advisory warning of sub zero temperatures overnight into Tuesday.

“North estW winds 15 to 20 mph will combine with temperatures in the mid teens producing wind chills of near 0 to 5 below zero late tonight into Tuesday morning,” The NWS wrote. “If you need to be outside, be prepared for the wind and cold, and dress in layers and wear a hat, heavy coat, as well as gloves or mittens.

The cold will be so intense that the NWS warned that even a few minutes of skin exposure to the elements could lead to frostbite.

Should you have a need to venture out, the advised method is by wearing multiple layers, and to make sure that all skin is covered.
