The Curfew in New York City which has been put in place due to violent protests and looting has been extended through Sunday, June 7th.

The curfew will begin each night at 8:00pm, and go through 5:00am each morning.

Councilman Chaim Deutsch released a statement Tuesday clarifying that religious observances will be exempted, including Mikvah and davening.

“I have received many concerned calls regarding tonight’s curfew, which is beginning at 8pm.” Wrote Deutsch. “I have been in touch with police officials to express concerns about the curfew limiting people’s ability to attend maariv or the mikvah. Cops will be instructed to allow for religious obligations and not issue summonses.”
