A Nor’easter is heading towards the Tri-State area; United Airlines is canceling flights ahead of the storm and other airlines are still evaluating which flights will be canceled on Wednesday and Thursday. The storm could dump as much as four inches of snow on hurricane weary New York City.

How this will affect Shluchim who are beginning to arrive for the Kinus has yet to be seen.

From The Examiner:

The coastal storm will bring rain, wind and some snow to the Northeast, while residents in New York and New Jersey are still trying to get their lives back in order after Superstorm Sandy left millions without power and many without a home.

NBC reports that United Airlines is canceling 500 flights starting at noon Wednesday and ending at noon Thursday out of Newark Liberty, John F. Kennedy International and LaGuardia airports. Customers can check on and change flights here.

As with the cancelations that took place last week during Sandy, passengers will not be charged change fees to book themselves on another flight.

At this time, Delta Air Lines, US Airways, Southwest Airlines have not canceled any flights for Wednesday, but that is subject to change depending on how bad the weather gets when this nor’easter hits the Northeast.

The Weather Channel states that the storm that is expected to start early on Wednesday could could bring several inches of rain in some areas already hard hit by Superstorm Sandy. Sustained winds of at least 40 mph and gusts approaching 60 mph are expected.

Strong winds, storm surge, flooding and rough surf are expected along the coast with a storm surge of 1 to 4 feet predicted from the Del-Mar-Va through Massachusetts.

Those living in the interior portions of Pennsylvania, New York and Connecticut could see snow.
