HURRICANE IRENE: Assault on East Coast Begins

As Hurricane Irene bears down on the U.S. East Coast, its inital rain bands are already rotating into the Carolinas bringing intense rain squalls complete with gusty winds.

Extreme, destructive impacts are expected through the weekend in eastern portions of the Mid-Atlantic and New England. Hurricane warnings and watches are posted as far north as New England. Those destructive impacts include a significant water level rise (surge and wave action), excessive rainfall and damaging winds.

Is New York City ready for a hurricane?

ha look whos talking. every time there is a tiny storm the entire FLA is putting up wood on their windows and closing their hurricane shades. remember we in NY have none of that and our insurance does not cover this type of damage
