State Senate Bans Texting While Driving
ALBANY, NY — The New York State Senate passed legislation to make texting while driving illegal across the state.
This comes after a series of fatal crashes involving teenagers in New York.
Governor Paterson is expected to sign the bill in law.
Offenders will be fined $150 for each violation, but can only be fined if pulled over for another offense.
The texting ban is part of a bill aimed at improving drivers’ safety, particularly teenagers.
It includes additional hours of training and limits the number of passengers allowed in a car with a new driver.
Ya Think?!
To think that we actually need a law for this…

mr text
Its a good law, Its very hard to drive while texting, you need to hold the phone on the steering wheel in order to see where your going and what your writing, (T9 helps).
its extremely dangerous.
from the few that do it some got killed.
talking on the cell phone is not realy a problem, (outside of the City on long highways sometimes you need to talk to keep you alert).
P.S. the phone displayed on the picture is not as hard to text while driving because there is an ABC keyboard. the phones whith a numeric are even harder
take my advice – if you dont want to crash dont text.
little brother
next you cant smoke, then you cant drink (soft drinks), then you cant talk to other passengers, then what? i know we are a nation of laws, but isn’t there a limit?
huh?
WHy was texting banned after speaking on a cell phone? surely texting is more dangerous that talking?
