NEW YORK, NY [NY1] — The MTA is reportedly moving ahead with one of the technologies that was originally proposed as part of the mayor's congestion pricing plan.
According to the New York Post, the agency is looking into putting cashless tolls on its bridges and tunnels.

According to the New York Post, the agency is looking into putting cashless tolls on its bridges and tunnels.
The system would either use a transponder attached to cars, the same way E-ZPass works, or a video camera to record passing license plates.
The MTA is reportedly expected to approve a $1.5 million year-long study of the speedy tolls which are already used in several states.
The Port Authority has been looking at a similar system.
