NEW YORK, NY — Under a new contract, members of the NYPD will soon be getting a raise.

Officers in top positions can expect a raise from $59,588 to $65,382. New officers will now start at $35,000, a jump from $25,000.

According to the contract, with the raises, police officers have to give up 10 out of 20 vacation days, which the Police Benevolent Association is not satisfied with.

Police officers who started working with the police department in 2006 will get back pay.

That’s a nice pay raise, but I’m surprised they were making so little, especially with the prices going up on everything.

    I wouldn’t want to lose out on 10 vacation days,but that,s a nice increase.

Yeah it’s still really low and they
have to work even more so it’s still
    not good enough…

They deserve a lot more for
going out there and dealing with the
**** that they deal with everyday…

Still not enough with this economy, it’s better off join the Military way better, starts of with 50,000.
