BDE: Rabbi Chaim Avrohom Dovber Hakohen Blesofsky, 81, OBM

With great sadness we report the passing of Horav Hachosid Chaim Avrohom Dovber (Avraham Ber) Hakohen Blesofsky OBM, a devoted Chossid and Shliach of the Rebbe in Melbourne, Australia.

He was 81 years old.

Rabbi Blesofsky was one of the first Shluchim to Miami, Florida where he was a Mechanech in Yeshiva Oholei Torah (the original Chabad day school). He later moved on Shlichus to Melbourne, Australia where he served as Mashgiach in the Yeshiva Gedolah and later, a Magid Shiur in the Yeshiva Ketana.

He was a devoted and fervent Chosid of the Rebbe, very involved in Mivtzoim especially Mivtzah Mezuzah, and was a Geshmake Baal Menagen as well as a driving force in Mivtzah Moshiach in Melbourne.

He is survived by his wife Mrs. Ella nee Gurewicz Blesofsky; and sons R. Yossi Blesofsky (Bayside, NY), and R. Sholem Blesofsky (Melbourne, Australia).

He is also survived by his siblings; Mrs. Yehudis Engel (Crown Heights), Mrs. Libby Zwiebel (Morristown, NJ), Mrs. Mimi Furst (Florida), Mrs. Faigy Rubenfeld (Florida), R. Yehuda Blesofsky (Crown Heights), and R. Ari Blesofsky (Crwon Heights).

Shiva will be observed in Melbourne, Australia.
