BDE: Mrs. Lea Slavin, 70, OBM

With great sadness we report the passing of Mrs. Lea Slavin, OBM, a beloved mother and grandmother from Crown Heights who was well known for her Hachnasas Orchim. She passed away on Friday, Shvi’i Shel Pesach, 5782.

She was 70 years old.

Lea was born in 1952 to Shia and Frieda Korik. She was raised in Sao Paulo, Brazil after the family moved to the country from Paris, France.

Throughout her years, Lea opened her home to guests for Yomim Tovim and shabbosim, constantly keeping her home full with guests.

She is survived by her husband Michoel, and children: Yosef Slavin (Caracas, Venezuela), Dina Blum (Ottawa, Canada), Chany Rapaport (Clarks Summit, PA), Yitzchok Slavin (Mississauga, ON), Mendel Slavin (San Clemente, CA) Dvory Deitsch (Toronto, Ontario), Isser Slavin (Montreal, Canada), Shterny Bendet (Crown Heights), Miriam Kleinman (Crown Heights), Mordechai Slavin (Crown Heights), Zevi Slavin (Atlanta, GA), and Berel Slavin (Dallas, TX) and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her daughter Tzippy OBM.

She is also survived by her siblings.

The Levayah will take place today, Sunday, passing 770 at approximately 2:00pm.

Shiva will take place at her home at 754 Eastern Parkway through Friday morning.
