BDE: Rebbetzin Chave Hecht, 95, OBM

With great sadness we report the passing of Rebbetzin Chave Hecht OBM, the wife of the famed Rabbi JJ Hecht, and Director of Camp Emunah for girls. She passed away on Tuesday, the 7th of Adar Aleph, 5782.

She was 95 years old.

Among her many accomplishments, Rebbetzin Hecht established Camp Emunah, the first Chabad-Lubavitch overnight camp, which she continued to run until her passing. She was also one of the first teachers in Beis Rivkah. All her campers and students are asked to join the levaya to pay their respects.

She is survived by her children Rabbi Sholem Ber Hecht, Mrs. Bassie Raskin, Mrs. Fraide Sabol, Rabbi Yossie Hecht, Rabbi Shea Hecht, Dovid Sabol, Mrs. Rivkie Abramowitz, Mrs. Chana Rochel Duchman, Levi Hecht, Rabbi Shimon Hecht, and Mrs. Binie Tenenbaum.

She was predeceased by her son Gershon Sabol OBM.

She is also survived by her sister, Mrs. Tzipa Goldberg of Boro Park.

The levaya will be Today, Tuesday 7 Adar 1, passing 770 at 2:45pm then following to NCFJE and the Old Montefiore cemetery.
