BDE: Rabbi Avrohom Abba “Abbie” Piekarski, 72, OBM
With great sadness we report the passing of Rabbi Avrohom Abba (ben Reb Yechiel Michel) Piekarski OBM, a Crown Heights resident and Melamed for many years. He passed away on Friday, Zos Chanukah, 5781.
He was 72 years old.
He is survived by his wife Rifka Piekarski, and children: Chanoch Piekarski (Bogota, Colombia), Yossi Piekarski (Crown Heights), Efraim Piekarski (Morristown, NJ), Sholom Ber Piekarski (Crown Heights), Mendy Piekarski (Crown Heights), Yehoshua Piekarski (Crown Heights), Sruli Piekarski (Crown Heights), Hillel Piekarski (Paris, France), Sara Hurwitz (Crown Heights), Yankel Piekarski (Crown Heights), and Yechiel Michel Piekarski (Crown Heights).
The levaya will take place today, Friday, and will be passing by 770 at approximately 12:30pm.

Offered help to those who needed it most
Father who loved his children
Shared his love of Torah with his sudents
Had endless Patience for those who needed help.
Always had a kind word to say to others
Mekarev Yidded to Yiddishkeit.
Everyone around him felt accepted.

I couldn’t agree more. From all my Rebbeim in Yeshivah I learnt the most in his class. He was not just a teacher, rather he taught you how to learn. He was a Talmuid Chochom that had a fountain of knowledge, and he shared that with his students in a very matter of fact way.

The best Kriah Teacher. I really knew how to lein well thanks to him. He also left a lasting impression on his incredible work ethic. He was there early morning for shachris and late at night making house calls to teach bochurim how to lein and learn their bar mitzvah maamer.
