BDE: Rabbi Sholom Eidelman, 83, OBM

With great sadness we report the passing of Rabbi Sholom Eidelman OBM, Shliach of the Rebbe to Morocco. He passed away over the second day of Pesach, the 16th of nissan, 5780.

He was 83 years old.

Rabbi Sholom Eidelman was born in Russia in 1936 to Rav Aryeh Dov and Slava Eidelman. At the age of nine, he escaped with his parents from Russia through Poland to France.

In 1956, just a few days before his marriage to his wife Gittle, the Rebbe sent him on a special mission to Morocco for Chanukah.

Last year, he celebrated his sixtieth years of Shlichus in Morocco.

He is survived by his wife, Gittle, and his children: Rabbi Schneur Zalman Eidelman (Vienna, Austria), Rabbi Yoel Eidelman (Brunoy, France), Rabbi Yoseph Yitzchak Eidelman (Israel), Rabbi Mendel Eidelman (Crown Heights), Rabbi Eliezer Eidelman (Manchester, UK), Shmuel Eidelman (Crown Heights), Mrs. Toba Rivka Belinov (Paris, France), and Mrs. Chana Gurevitch (Chicago, IL), as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren, many of whom are shluchim of the Rebbe.

He was predeceased by his son Yosef Yitzchok Eidelman OBM of Israel.

He is also survived by his sister Mrs. Asya Pevsner of France
