Boruch Dayan Hoemes: Rebbetzin Rochel Simpson, 81, OBM

With greats sadness we inform you of the passing of Rebbetzin Rochel Simpson OBM, wife of Rabbi Sholom Mendel Simpson who served as The Rebbe’s Mazkir. She passed away Shabbos morning at the age of 81.

She is survived by her husband Rabbi Sholom Mendel Simpson and her children Rabbi Yossi Simpson (Crown Heights), Mrs. Faigy Wilshansky (Crown Heights), Mrs. Krainy Borenstein (Crown Heights), Rabbi Avremi Simpson (Crown Heights), Rabbi Ari Simpson (Crown Heights), Mrs. Mashie Preger (Crown Heights) and Rabbi Dovid Simpson (Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn).

She is also survived by her sister Mrs. Chana Popack (Crown Heights).

The Levaya will take place Sunday and will be leaving from Shomrei Hadas at 11:00am and passing by 770 at around 11:45am.

    Rabbi SImpson was m’karev me back in the 1970’s. Very sorry to hear the news. The Rebbetzin was so warm and welcoming.
