With great sadness and shock we report the tragic death of a Chayal in Tzivos Hashem, Avrohom Nochum Dor, OBM, age 10, in a horrific auto accident in Israel a few hours ago.

The Dor family was returning to their home in Beitar Ilit after a Chol Hamoed family trip, when their car overturned. Avrohom Nochum was found outside the car; the parents and sisters were injured and taken to Soroka Hospital in Be’er Sheva.

Young Avrohom Nochum is the son of – yibodel l’chaim tovim – R’ Michoel Dor, administrator of the Kfar Sitrin educational complex.

The levaye will take place at 9:30pm, starting at the Shamgar Funeral Home in Jerusalem.

Oh My Lord!!! Overturned vehicle? It looks like a runaway speeding vehicle that went off a cliff!!! Who drives like that with kids in the car??? Always drive more slower than you should, especially around these Israel cliffs by the sea. Even Egged Buses race on these skinny cliffs like there’s no tomorrow. Hashem Yerachem and may everyone be blessed with a good sweet comforting year, especially the Dors.

  • What we can do to stop these things L O

How our Rebbeh taught us to respond to tragedy!
despite the Rebbe’s general disposition to stay far away from Musssar
(however due to the lives at stake & the real power we posses to prevent tragedy)
The Rebbeh would always link such untimely tragedies to a need for our community to strengthen our divine protection!!
    …..
we all know how to re-attract Hashems protection against tragedies…. lets all unite & take hachlatos to improve Hashem’s brachos & protection to our kehilos!!

    Geulah Now!!!!!

#6: You call yourself Smart? How do you know what happened? Maybe the father’s breaks failed. Maybe he was going at regular speed and his timing belt or chain broke; there could be 1000s of possibilities? And you call yourself Smart? Let us hope that this family gets through this horrific tragedy in one piece – physically and spiritually.

My dear Mr Samuels, you must be very clever because from my perusal of the article and the picture, I was in no way able to perceive (as you were) that it was a ‘runaway speeding vehicle’, or that it ‘went off a cliff’ simply from the fact that it is near a rock wall, nor could I have asked the question ‘who drives like that?’ as you do, without having any idea (again, from the article or picture) that anyone was driving ‘like that’. If ever there was a time not to make judgments or post assumptions, that time is now.

TO NUMBER 18 FROM NUMBER 6 again: I thought over what I wrote about “runaway vehicle”. I am truly sorry for having said that comment. Seeing the mangled mess at the bottom of the cliff, it could have been anything, or the weather could have been foggy. Whatever, Hashem knows everything. The only thing is: when I was in Israel on an Egged, you know as well as I, you have to pray that you get out alive, as the bus drivers usually rush back to Jerusalem along the cliffs leading out of Yam Hamelach. Scary.

  • Enough Road Deaths

While #6 is way off the mark, it is long past time for the state of Israel to do something about its roads and its growing crop of horrible drivers.

YUP NUMBER 21 —- Israel’s drivers have no manners like they do in states and canada.
