Boruch Dayan Ha’emes: R’ Moshe Teleshevsky, OBM

With sadness we inform you of the passing of Reb Moshe Teleshevsky, OBM, of Crown Heights. Reb Moshe, affectionately known as the Rebbe’s Chazzan, passed away this morning, on the second day of the Yomtov of Sukkos.

Reb Moshe was known for his exceptional rendition of “Yehi Ratzon” as an introduction to the Niggun “Sheyibone Beis Hamikdosh,” which he would often perform in front of the Rebbe, as can be seen in the video below.

His Levaya will take place Thursday.

It is very interesting that he passed away during Succos which was one of the dedicated times when R’ Moishe would daven for the Rebbe.

He had three special days every year that he would daven for the Rebbe, who would always give him a special Yashar Koach after davening, one was on Shabbos Chol Hamoed Succos (when the Kvius allowed), the second was Shabbos Breishis and the third was on the second night of Pesach.

During the entire summer he would practice all the Nigunim that he wanted to insert into his Chazanus, he put his whole heart and soul into this special tefila that he would daven for the Rebbe. He tested each piece on some of his close friends and relatives to make sure that it sounds good and what they think if the Rebbe will like it.

There was a very special connection between R’ Moishe and the Rebbe whom he loved with his entire heart and soul, not all the details are public knowledge, but it was clearly one of “a heart feels a heart.” The Rebbe returned the love in a very open and direct way.

Most likely the Rebbe will ask him to the Amud this Shabbos Chol Hamoed Succos and the following Shabbos Breishis and he will sing out for us the grand Boruch Habo Melech Hamoshiach. Amein

I will never forget Rabbi Teleshevsky’s kindness to me. When I arrived at my place for Farbrengen, Rabbi Teleshevsky always prepared Kiddush and Kichalach for me.

He encouraged me to join him and the young Bochorim to Daven together with Rabbi Michoil Teitlebaum A”H when he was indesposed.

I truly treasure our relationship and look forward to seeing him again together with the Rebbe immediately, please G-d.
