TRAGEDY: Boruch Dayan Hoemes – Kazi Benjamin OBM
It is with immense pain and deep sadness that we inform you of the shocking, tragic and very untimely passing of Hatomim Kasriel (Kazi) Benjamin at the age of 25.
Kazi is survived by his parents, Yehudah and Sarah (Flatbush), and his siblings Meira Gewirtz (Miami, FL), Adina, Efi, Elisha, Nechemia, Shimon, Daniel, Asher and Amiel.
“Kazi and his smile will forever be missed” wrote one friend, speaking of Kazi’s infectious smile that would light up a room. Always quick with a good word, and would never hesitate to lend a helping hand. He grew up going to Lubavitcher Yeshiva and later Chovevei Torah in Crown Heights.
The Levaya will take place today, Tuesday, and will be leaving from the Shomrei Hadaas Chapel at 1:30pm and passing by 770 at around 2:00pm. From there the Levaya will continue to the Old Montefiore Cemetery in Queens.

Kazi you were the nicest, funniest, happiest and most fun person i ever knew, you were so loveable and so huggable, you were always there for me when i needed you, you always had the perfect thing to say you were such a good friend and such an amazing person.
Why does Hashem always take the best?!
I guess he wants you for himself.
What makes this a bit easier is that i know you are in a better place, you are for sure dancing with all the angels, learning with all the tzadikim, chillin’ with our ancestors, and making jokes with everyone else!
Kaszi, you changed the world for the better.
I mourn with your amazing family but i will never forget you!!!!!!
Kazi, i love you and i will miss you but not for too long because i know that i will be dancing with you in Yerushalayim with Moshiach very soon!

Agreed. We should all get together for an emergency general meeting and make peace.
Now, what are you going to bring to the compromise table? Or is it us (or those who see differently to you) who has to do the compromising to your opinions and views?
If you have no answer, then please don’t make jokes on this tragic occasion.

There was no knowledge of a previous medical condition. Kazi had internal trauma that unexpectedly caused his heart to stop.
No autopsy will be performed as prescribed by halacha.

Kazi will be missed, by every one that knew him and by the ones who he has yet to meet . He was like a teddy bear, always making people laugh and comforting others in times of need . The Benjamin family is one of a kind . They know how to be happy and spread that happiness through out . May kazzi’s temporary absence only help them spread that love and happiness even more. Miss ya kazz Baruch dayn emet .
#2 i read what th Rebbe said re Safety
according to the Lubavicher Rebbe (to increase safety against all harm) the top 3 concrete steps the public can do:
1) Annual checks on Tfilin & Mezuzos -especially in Elul
2) Jewish self respect, in the form of adherence to jewish-law in modesty
3) Daily Chitas
as the Rebbe put it: “the above has an impact on the safety of the family & collective safety of the entire community”
-this is according to our Rebbeh, who seeks only our own best interest, we can trust him!)
Lets do a Mitzvah for Kazi!!
the power of a mitzvah is in-estimable!! for the Neshama of the deceased! although we cannot see him! he can still recieve gifts from us & knows who his true friends are!
Chesed Shel Emes! the Soul can see & Hear! the soul gets tremendous gain from Mitzvos done in its merit!!
Wake up call!!
Lets be better in his zechus! lets laig tefilin in his Zechus! i know i will! everyone do ur part!

I want to thank you for your very respectful and dignified post. On the one hand its nosy to ask what happened on the other hand in todays society people get frightened very easily and the mind wanders which does no good for anyone. I think your post gives just the right amount of info without disrespecting kazi.

good bye uncle, it was meant to be, and we can not understand why. But Hashem has “his” ways and knowing you, you would’ve been happy to hear that the will of Hashem would be carried out. :)
Yaakov avinu lo mais – in our hearts you live on
but we will miss your physical personalty, now it’s time for your spirit and lessons to be carried on through the generations.
To The Family
I once heard that Hashem waits until the end of the year to take tzaddikim and those who are dear. I did not know him but given that we are right before Rosh Hashana he must have been very special. Hamakom yenachem eschem besoch shaar avalei tzion v’yerushalayim

im so sorry this happened to such a beautiful family.im actualy an avel myself but even after loosing both of my parents I cannot even begin to imagine the pain of loosing a sibling. I hope and pray that the family can find the comfort and strength to push on after such a terrible tragedy.if there is anyone reading this who knows the family or lives anywhere close by please try to do something to help or be there for them even if its just to bring them some food or sweets as aveilim can’t leave the house for 7 days.I thank god for giving you such a big and wonderful family and wish you all the best in staying together to help eachother through this. may this be the last bit of tzar your family has to endure and may your lives be filled with only simcha’s from this day on. hamakom yinachem eschem b’toch sha’ar avieley tzion v’yerushalayim

%1000 on the money!
the Rebbeh knows & the Rebbe seeks to protect us against tragedy!
remember ppl think the Rebbe is pushing g-ds agenda! in fact the Rebbe was always pushing our agenda as #1!
if the Rebbe begged us to do tznius chitas ahavas yisroel… he did so for OUR sake!! so lets be smart & follow our Rebbe for our own safety & good!

There is a 3rd possibility. Leave everything as it is right now.
However seeing that both sides of the kehilla believe they are right, then a suggestion to not seek emess is not a solution. (Oooops. I suddenly realize that the clamor , or the silence, to ignore a review of a psak, is a fear of emess?)
hachlata
Unfortunately there are many tradegies like this and in order not to forget we must take on something in honor of him so his memory can live on. Kazi u are sorely missed
all sides want to prevent more tragedies
All ppl can agree on this… Kazi deserves our best Leiloy nishmaso!
so lets do what our dear Rebbe told us to re attracting hashems blessings & safety!
study chitas daily, have your tefilin and mezuzot checked by a sofeir and dress beautifully AND modestlys !
this formula is endoresed by our rebbi and is somthing all sides agree works when followed
