With sadness we inform you of the passing of Mrs. Rivka bas Moshe Goldshmid, a longtime resident of Crown Heights, at the age of 79.
She is survived by her husband, Sholom, and her children, Moshe (Kfar Chabad), Batya Gottesman (Montreal), Chani Kotlarsky (New City, NY), Yisroel (Shmidy) (Crown Heights).

The Levaya will take place today, Sunday, and will be leaving from Shomrei Hadaas at 3:00pm and passing by 770 at around 3:45pm. The kevurah will take place in Israel.
The family will sit shivah in Kfar Chabad briefly before returning to Crown Heights.

It is Reb Sholom (not Sholom), tzu lange yoren, a title befitting his stature. Reb Sholom and his wife lived in this community for more than 60 yrs and merited to many kiruvum from the Rebbe and the Rebbetzin.
Reb Sholom’s father, Reb Moshe HY”D was one of the kdoshim murdered in the Chevron Pogrom in 1929. The Previous Rebbe visited Chevron prior to the pogrom and preferred to eat only from Reb Moshe’s shchita.

she was a very special lady.
i work for ‘Brod & Goldschmid’ for more then 12 yrs, getting to know both families – ie the Brod’s and the Goldschmid’s
it was a pleasure to watch the relationahip bet the Goldschmid – we should all try to live up to their ideals of what marriage is.
In later years, after they retired, i would run into them on kingston ave and she always had a kind word to say, asked about my family, etc.
Mrs Goldschmid will be greatly missed great.
