With deep pain and profound sadness we inform you of the untimely and tragic passing of Reb Isaac Zellermaier OBM of Boro Park, he was 63. He is survived by his wife, Rebbetzin Devorah, and two children Shloime and Yehuda of Boro Park.
Although he did not live in Crown Heights Reb Isaac was an ‘askan’ and activist who gave his life and soul for our neighborhood, and was a Kingston Avenue shop keeper where he sold groceries for many years.
Reb Isaac was from the very first Hatzalah members in Crown Heights, and was a Crown Heights Shomrim Coordinator.
The Levaya will take place on Sunday, and will be leaving from the Shomrei Hadas Chapel at 11:30am and passing by 770 at around 12:15pm from there the Levaya will continue to the Montefiore cemetery in Queens.

I am shocked. He was a very nice man. I remember stopping at the store as a kid and as an adult he would still say hello to me and also my kids.

oy oy what a shock – he ran alot during the day in CH – in the early years of hatzolo when leibel and yingi bistrisky were in the shop in east side – him and his brother Heshy covered CH! This goes back to ’70’s to mid ’80’s I believe.
I remember him always standing outside his shop saying hello and chatting with anyone and everyone. He was a friend of many – this is true loss to the neighborhood. He helped many many teens in tuff times. OY! BDE
BDE!
Baruch Dayan Haemes!
Isaac was one of my “checkpoints” on the ride up kingston on Oholei Torahs #2 Bus in the AM…
I remember him with his large radios always running to help a yid in a “chaptzem” situation, and to head out to a hatzala call

When The Meggila was read and these words were said
…“Mordechai, a proud Jew, refused to bow down…”
I thought Of Izik.
He was a great man whom gave up a lot for the protection on the Jewish nation.
He was plain a simple a hero and a mentch.
We will miss him dearly.

We can not begin to realize the loss of this man who dedicated over 35 years of his life to the betterment of the community. While he would go out of his way for the youth, he also did many favors for anash, making sure the community was safe and well. Yashaar koach to his special wife and family who fargined him to do whatever was needed to help his fellow jew and make sure crown heights was on the right track. Words can not express the greatness of this special man. May his entire family be comforted.
