  • Another victim of tragedy

May the Tevel family know only of simchos and may we have V’Heikitzu V’raninu Shochnei offor.
Unfortunately there are plenty of people in Crown Heights who can understand and hopefully help you with what you are going through. I am from one of those families – I say this because as I stood at Yizkor this year I noticed HOW MANY children there were. People trying to send them out until they were told they belonged there. I say the following to state how much we need moshiach – Hashem, You should be embarrassed of what you are letting happen to your children. Even if you wanted to say we weren’t behaving this is way to much!!
I also wanted to mention that when I sat shiva (and after) I read the posts that people put here and on other websites and got a lot of koach from them.

He came out in the snow storm of the century to make sure the flowers got to our wedding on time – and explained “I’m not just a flowers guy – I’m a shliach of the Rebbe.”

  • CH DAD

this totally sucks – im so upset with this news – just too darn sad – what more can be said – always after someone leaves us – you read how special he or her were – guys and girls – poppas and mommas – look around you NOW – tonight – later – your friend(s) – neighbors(s) – and so forth – many have wonderful qualities and midos – appreciate who you can for WHAT YOU CAN and overlook the negative or the faults!
Do it today, tommorow and so on – perhaps we can grow in this and appreciate more.

Yossi was really and truly a fine person. yes he was truly a chossid of the best kind. Because Ahavas yisroel is first on the list. I agree, we increase in our mitzvos in his name….mainly ahavas yisroel

  • PAPA BEAR!!

ONE OF THE FOUNDERS AND BACK BONE OF STERNS YESHIVA AND A FATHER TO US ALL..WILL REALLY BE MISSED.

  • Rubashkin relative

This is such terrible news! Reb Yossel was such a special man and helped countless people. He has been so helpful to Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin – he was a real friend. He constantly spoke to him giving him chizuk and helping in any way possible.

One thing is for sure – he will be Sholom Mordechai’s greatest advocate in shamayim! He will make quite a ruckus – and of course to bring Moshiach already and get us out of this crazy golus.

  • Moshe Gelber

This is terrible. I heard that he was in the hospital on Sunday, but I was hoping for a miraculous recovery.

I am very sad to read this tragic news. Mr Tevel was indeed one of the kindest men ever to walk the streets of Crown Heights.

Anyone who ever met him would never forget his smile, his kind words, and his happy personality.

Losing Mr. Tevel is a tragic blow to the community.

My thoughts go to the Tevel Family that I had the honor in meeting at a Hanukah Party as Riker’s island, where my son is unfortunately waiting for his sentence. Rabbi Yossi Tevel and his family, Hannah and her brothers were there making all the people around smile and laugh and enjoy a few hours of music and dance, bringing hope that there is a better world out there and that they should thrive for change. I hope that this wonderful family will continue in the footsteps of their father spreading joy and hope and by this change in the heart of the people.

  • shocked by the news

Baruch Dayan Haemes. Rabbi Tewel definitely raised wonderful children. May the family only know of simchas.

  • Avraham Becker

The thing I will always remember about him most,is his infectiously wonderful and caring personality!!!You can’t help to be in a good mood when being around him!!!Many Jews from Crown Heights,no matter how religious, would come to his house and farbreng on Shabbos.I will never forget those great Shabbosim with all those great stories you told!!!!He has touched the lives of many Jews all around the world!!!Words cannot describe how much you will be missed!!!!Lets all bring Moshiach now where we will meet him again in Eretz Yisroel!!!

The loss of such a yedid neeman is so incredibly painful. Having a friend
    like Reb
Yosef is perhaps once in a life time if you are so fortunate.
You are so sorely missed. Your wonderful legacy will certainly continue and
    grow
ever stronger through your wonderful and loving family.
