After playing to sold-out crowds in more than 10 major cities, spanning 4 continents, the Exodus experience will return to New York beginning March 5 at the Jewish Children’s Museum.
The biblical account of Jewish slavery in Egypt is brought to life in this fully interactive show. “Exodus” creators say they designed the program to give people – particularly children – a peek into the colorful history of the Jewish people, not only through hearing about it, but by actually being there.
The show begins with participants climbing into a “Time Machine” for the journey back into ancient Egypt. Upon “arrival” visitors will make stops in Pharaoh’s palace to witness the Ten Plagues, watch Moses demand of Pharaoh: “Let my people go!” walk through the splitting sea and cross the desert to receive the Ten Commandments at Mount Sinai.

In addition to the hundreds of families and thousands of walk-in visitors expected, organizers are preparing to welcome hundreds of tri-state schools for special tours tailored to each group’s particular age and background.
“Many of us are returning for our third or fourth ‘Exodus’” said one staff member. He added that working with the Museum and their staff of exhibit designers and builders enables the Exodus team to innovate and improve on past achievements. “Many of the groups who have already experienced Exodus have reserved time slots for this year’s show” he said. After booking more than 90% of the available dates, organizers agreed to add extra showings to allow more schools to participate.
The show is timed to coincide with the upcoming Passover season which commemorates the exodus. No detail is overlooked; nothing is left to imagination in this spectacular voyage through history.
