Bochurim Visit Survivor of the Hyper Cacher Terror Attack

On the night of Purim, Bochurim studying in the Chabad Yeshiva in Brunoy, France, went to bring the joy of Purim to Yonatan Louk, the manager of Hyper Cacher Kosher supermarket, the site of a terror attack in which four Jewish people were killed and he was held hostage.

The manager, who was taken hostage by Amedy Coulibaly YM”S, along with a score of other shoppers witnessed the terror before his eyes and was forced by the terrorist to shut the store doors.

Bochrim read the Megillah for him danced and said Lechaim around the table together and spoke how G-d takes care of us in the hard times and how we must be connected to the Mordechai of our generation – The Rebbe – which cares and thinks of every Jew.

He shared with the Bochurim many firsthand accounts about what had transpired during the attack. He showed pictures of himself which were all over the newspapers which were taken from the video camera which were inside the store. He told how much the terrorist took advantage of him and how the chances of him remaining alive was almost impossible.

One of the Bochurim related:

He told us about terrorist bringing with himself many explosives and even attempted to use them but by miracle he placed them in all backwards. He said how he led everyone downstairs and when the terrorist asked if there were people downstairs. He lied and said that there is no one there.

He said how the terrorist asked him to bring him food because he was hungry, afterwards he offered to the rest of the people to eat but everyone refused to eat. The terrorist tried finding from the hostages who they are and where they come from and no one was scared to deny that they were a Jew.

He said how he was three meters away from the terrorist when the police shot him dead. He has gone through many trauma but b”h he is overcoming it. He said that during the whole attack he kept himself very calm telling himself not to worry everything will be alright.

He was very happy that the Bochurim came to visit and he thanked us a lot.
