Released Time Volunteers Gather for Lunch
Bochurim who spend each Wednesday teaching Torah to Jewish children who learn in New York City’s Public schools met Tuesday, the 29th of Teves, for a Lunch in Getzel’s Shul.
The program is under the auspices of the NCFJE. Rabbi Shea Hecht, Chairman of the NCFJE, addressed the crowd, thanking the Bochurim for their hard work. He related how the NCFJE offices were contacted by a Rav Hamachshir from the OU, who had attended Released Time classes as a child in Public School.
Director Rabbi Shazak Zirkind spoke about the importance Released Time had to the Frierdike Rebbe and the Rebbe, and encouraged all bochurim to sign up at least one child for the program in honor of Yud Shevat.
