Tanya Farin Davenen (Learning Tanya Before Praying)

Morristown, NJ — A week ago, new shluchim in Tomchei T’mimim of Morristown kicked off and new and incredible Mivtza called “Tanya Farin Davenen”. Bochurim were eagerly involved within a week with astonishing results. Over 90% of the Yeshiva are “koching” (involved with enthusiasm) in learning an entire Perek of Tanya before Davening everyday.

The bochurim learn the same Perek the whole week. Explanations in English and Hebrew are printed and handed out to the bochurim to help learn the deeper meaning of Tanya. Those who participated at least 5 out of 7 days for three weeks take a test. Bochurim with good marks enter a raffle for a chance to win either 2 iPod Nano’s or 2 big sets of Lessons in Tanya.

An enthusiastic bochur said, “This Mivtza is amazing, I am get to learn the deeper meaning of Tanya.”

This Mivtza is B’Zchus Habachur Hatamim Moshe Yackov Yisroel Ben Bluma Leah Chana and in memory of Yosef Ben Yisroel and Feige Bas Yosef.

We would like to thank all our sponsors, both present and future. A special thank you is extended to Virtual Imaging Printer in Crown Heights.

May this bring Nachas to the Rebbe and help bring Moshiach immediately! Amen!

This article SERIOUSLY degrades this website… Where should we go to get our news from, now that ch.info has become a cheery newsletter for mommy and tatty to schep nachas? This is nice for a report card, not for a website such as this. I don’t think there’s a shortage of things happening in our community or in our world that you should have to resort to this…

    Poor taste techie…

    To disappointed:

What is wrong with hearing some positive and nice programs that are going on in our yeshivos and schools instead of all the bad. Thank you for this article!

  • To dissapointed

Oh please… this is types of news that I enjoy seeing, something positive for a change. For ads and un-isteresting stuff refer yourself to many other chabad websites around. Keep it up CH.info!

By the way, I’m a bochur.

  • A PROUD PERSON

    TO DISAPPOINTED,
there have been enough muggings, car accidents and other types of crime posted on this site. There is nothing wrong with publicizing the positive. I’m a young girl and I’m so proud of these boys. You don’t have to be a ‘mommy’ or ‘tatty’ to appreciate the good things people do. May your website be filled with many more of such beautiful articles.
May we be zoche to see moshiach speedily today through continueing to do acts of goodness and kindness and inspiring others to do so as well.

    To ‘tikun taus’;

The word is “koching” its Yidish and in this context it means great excitement for or interest in a subject or cause, normally it would mean cooking.

I think that this is a great article…. and in fact it has inspired me to do the same… one perek a day, same perek for a week, and to think in one year finish the entire 53 perakim of Tanya and know it!!!
    Gevaldik…. I am very excited!!!

BY THE WAY I AM A YUNGERMAN.

Webby or Techie, what are the possibilities of enabling Hebrew text in the comments? This is the second post just today where someone placed a comment that’s surely worthy of being read, but comes out as gibberish onscreen.
