Bochurim Doing Mivtoim at London’s Heathrow Airport

Throughout the nights of Chanukah El Al had a 10:15pm flight taking off from London’s Heathrow Airport to Tel Aviv, Israel. These lucky passengers and flight crew were welcomed in boarding lounge by the Bochurim, who distributed delicious jelly doughnuts and a travel size Chanukah Menorah with candles for they trip. The passengers and crew enjoyed the company and Divrei Torah while waiting for their plane. Thousands of Menorahs and doughnuts were distributed throughout the nights of Chanukah.

Each night of Chanukah besides for the Menorahs and jelly doughnut distribution. All the El Al flight crew, staff and passengers would take part in a pre-boarding Menorah lighting at the gate moments prior to boarding the plane. The Menorah lighting would then be followed by Chanukah songs and dancing as the flames would be burning.

The bochrim from London Yeshiva that did Mivtzoim at the gate, were escorted by London Hethrow Airport Jewish chaplain and Chabad Rabbi, Rabbi Hershi Vogel of London, whom has been holding Chanukah services and Mivtzoim at the airport for 11 years now.

A special thanks to London Yeshiva Shluchim for arranging all Mivtzoim needs and fees. The bochrim at the airport were Yisroel Noach Evers, Aryeh Leib Hurwitz and Avremi Zippel.

I was in Heathrow last year during Chanukah, and the Bochurim arrived to distribute Menorahs and Sufganiyot to ELAL and JEWISH passengers. They helped many Frum passengers light Menorah, as otherwise they would not be able. They handed others personal kits, and made a major Kidush Hashem and Kidush Lubavitch. There was a Bnei Brak Ruv/Rebbe who after inquiring the Hechsher on the donuts took one and as we boarded spoke endearingly Lubavitch
