Kinus Hashluchos Banquet to be at the Armory

The Kinus Hashluchos Banquet will be held on January 30 in the 69th Regiment Armory in Crown Heights “for the convenience of Shluchos and guests,” organizers said.

Rebbetzins were notified on Friday that the Gala Banquet of the upcoming International Conference of Chabad-Lubavitch Shluchos will be held close to home. Crown Heights, that is.

The Merkos L’Inyonei Chinuch organizers the large sit-down dinner on January 30, 2011, will take place at the massive 69th Regiment Armory on Bedford Avenue between Union and President Streets.

“For the convenience of Shluchos and guests, as well as to accommodate as many people as possible the banquet will be closer to Crown Heights this year than ever,” said the organizing committee headed by Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky.

Last year’s 5770 Kinus Hashluchim was held at Armory after going through an extreme make over from a storage for artillery and movie sets to a evening ballroom.

Previous bqnuets of the Kinus Hashluchos was held at the New York Hilton in Manhattan with some 2,500 women in attendance.

“This new location for the banquet will ensure that the program begins punctually while saving travel and bus time,” organizers said in an email update.

The Kinus will be held in Brooklyn on 21-26 Shevat 5771 (January 26-31, 2011). Mrs. Goldie Plotkin of Markham, Ontario, will be the Keynote Speaker at Banquet.
