Two Jewish Murals Completed in LA This Past Week

by CrownHeights.info

Two murals showing Jewish pride were completed this week, one bringing light to Pico Blvd and the other giving life to the Bais Chaya Mushka School of Los Angeles.

Artist Sheina Dorn, completed the first “beautiful Geula mural” on Tuesday at the Bais Chaya Mushka School of Los Angeles, where a wall now depicts women and girls dancing with their tambourines.

“I had my Bais Rebbe 8th grade students unleash their explosive expressive side by spraying ,and splashing the background before quarantine,” Sheina told CrownHeights.info. “They got to also fill in some of the characters dancing. Celebrating Jewish woman pride, I decided to paint women and girls dancing with their tambourines so the girls in the school can actually “taste” the excitement of how we will soon celebrate with the coming of moshiach.”

All big schools in LA have been quarantining since the beginning of this week.

The second mural was created as part of a collaborative work from eights artists for the Jewish art festival that artist Hillel Smith organized. The artists are painting menorahs across the United States in honor of Chanuka.

“The motto is “Light over Darkness“, Shaina said, “So Shlome and I took it literally and used neon colors to produce the most light possible.”

With Shlome Hayun, Shaina completed a stunning vibrant bright neon colored menorah right off Pico Blvd on the restaurant Mamilla.

A passenger driving by said “this is the best thing that happened to Pico”, with many people stopped their cars to thank the artists for really celebrating Jewish pride in such an awesome cool way.
