Rockland Shuls File Lawsuit Against Governor Cuomo’s COVID Restrictions

by Monsey.info

Three shuls in Rockland County got right to the root of things, and have filed a lawsuit against Governor Andrew Cuomo’s COVID restrictions.

The premise of the lawsuit cuts right to the foundation of the matter, the restrictions are unconstitutional.

Religious liberty, a first amendment right, is alleged to have been infringed by the governor’s latest restrictions.

The shuls, Cong. Yeshuas Yaakov and Rabbi Moshe Rosner of Monsey; Cong. Oholei Shem D’Nitra and Rabbi Samuel Teitelbaum of Spring Valley; and Cong. Netzach Yisroel and Rabbi Chaim Leibish Rottenberg of Monsey, are being represented by attorneys Ronald Coleman and Harmeet Dhillon.

Other such lawsuits outside of New York State have been met with a level of success. A recent lawsuit filed before the second days of Yom Tov by Agudas Yisroel failed, with the judge siding with the Governor.
