Crown Heights “Askanim” Attempting To Make Votes Count, Ask For Community To Change Voting Registration To Sullivan County

by CrownHeights.info

A group of Jewish “Askanim” have come up with a plan to make the votes of the Jewish community count.

“A group of Askonim from Crown Heights and other local communities in Brooklyn have decided to become proactive and push back against the current political climate that has affected the quality of life in our city,” they wrote in a message circulating on Whatsapp.

The idea was originally implemented by the Satmar and other Chassidishe groups with a measure of success. To make their plan work, they urged all voters to move their voting location Sullivan County, where the large amount Jewish owned bungalows would provide a large voting block.

“Rather than voting in New York City where the votes are almost useless due to the progressive left the city has become, moving the votes upstate actually makes our votes count.”

The main goal for this movement is to use the voting block to take back senate seats desperately needed to regain the quality of life for the Jewish communities. On the agenda is bringing back the Safety and security for our streets, not allowing certain secular curriculums to be forced into our schools, fighting back against City Hall to stand up for the mom and pop shops that struggle to stay above water on a daily basis, and reversing bail reform to ensure our streets become safe once again.

The group of askanim who signed to the social media message included Crown Heights businessman Dovi Sperlin, Dr. Barry Grossman, Sam Stern, and Mendel Mochkin.

“In order to achieve these goals we must get everyone who can and wants to help to simply fill out the attached voter registration and Absentee ballot forms and put them in a sealed envelope and either drop them off at 549 Empire Blvd and they will be hand delivered to the Sullivan County voting office, or you can mail them out yourself,” they wrote. “Regardless, it’s important that once you send in your voting docs you follow up by going online voterlookup.elections.ny.gov to make sure you’re properly registered upstate to ensure that you are able to vote this November as an absentee from the comforts of your year round home and be a part of a major push to take back our city and regain our quality of life once again.”

While the group has written that “Anyone is allowed to vote upstate so long as they have belongings there, regardless of seasonal bungalow or winterized homes,” a previous attempt to do something similar failed after local politicians denied the newly registered voters ballots. The reason for the refusal was that a person must be a resident for 30 prior to the election, and those with only seasonal homes may not qualify.

A group of Askonim from Crown Heights and other local communities in Brooklyn have decided to become proactive and push back against the current political climate that has affected the quality of life in our city. They have decided to create a large voting block in Sullivan County and back the politicians in Albany that share the same values as we do and in doing so we could put an end to the insane laws we have seen get passed in our great city such as the most recent Bail Reform and other quality of life laws that have made our daily living extremely uncomfortable.

Rather than voting in New York City where the votes are almost useless due to the progressive left the city has become, moving the votes upstate actually makes our votes count.

A perfect example of this concept being effective, was all the pushback before the summer by the many upstate politicians who attempted to push for laws blocking the opening of our camps and bungalow colonies. It was only because of some of the local upstate politicians that now recognize the Charedi community as a strong voting block did we manage to persuade them to allow us to open up for the summer season.

The main goal for this movement is to gain as many registered voters to move their registration to Sullivan County and to finally make our vote count by using our voting block to take back the senate seats we desperately need in order to regain the quality of life for our communities:

Bringing back the Safety and security for our streets.

Not allowing certain secular curriculums to be forced into our schools.

Fighting back against City Hall to stand up for the mom and pop shops that struggle to stay above water on a daily basis.

Reversing bail reform to ensure our streets become safe once again.

In order to achieve these goals we must get everyone who can and wants to help to simply fill out the attached voter registration and Absentee ballot forms and put them in a sealed envelope and either drop them off at 549 Empire Blvd and they will be hand delivered to the Sullivan County voting office, or you can mail them out yourself. Regardless, it’s important that once you send in your voting docs you follow up by going online voterlookup.elections.ny.gov to make sure you’re properly registered upstate to ensure that you are able to vote this November as an absentee from the comforts of your year round home and be a part of a major push to take back our city and regain our quality of life once again.

We ask that each bungalow colony or year round development upstate appoint at least two representatives that can help get people properly registered and assist with making sure that voters all back the same candidates that share our values.

Anyone is allowed to vote upstate so long as they have belongings there, regardless of seasonal bungalow or winterized homes.
