Deutsch Receives Key Endorsement from Local 831, Sanitation Workers Union

In his race for United States Congress in New York’s Ninth District, Councilman Chaim Deutsch received the endorsement of the Uniformed Sanitationmen’s Association, Local 831. The union is comprised of more than 6,700 men and women who serve New York City within the Department of Sanitation.

Local 831 President Harry Nespoli said, “As President of the more than 6,700 men and women within the Uniformed Sanitationmen’s Association, it is my great pleasure to pledge our full endorsement and support for your campaign in the Democratic Primary to represent Brooklyn’s 9th Congressional District. Over the course of your career in the City Council, and especially as a member of the Committee for Sanitation and Solid Waste, you have fought tirelessly in providing sanitation services for your district. You also understand that providing those critical services including snow removal, maintaining waste baskets, and special event clean-ups require equipment and manpower. More than understanding these critical needs, your voice and advocacy have ensured our members are properly equipped to get the job done. You have always stood by us. The men and women of Uniformed Sanitationmen’s Association are proud to stand with you in your efforts in seeking the Democratic nomination to represent the 9th Congressional District on June 23, 2020.”

Councilman Chaim Deutsch, candidate for United States Congress said, “I am grateful to Local 831 for their support of my campaign for New York’s Ninth District. The men and women who work in the Sanitation Department are truly the backbone of our city, working incredibly hard each and every day to ensure that our streets are clean. As a New York City Councilman, I have always fought for the working people of our city, and I intend to take that fight to Washington as the Ninth District’s Congressman. I am humbled at the outpouring of support our campaign has already received, and I look forward to building upon that in the coming months.”
