Crown Heights Shomrim Attends NYPD’s Yom Tov Security Briefing

A security briefing held at 1 Police Plaza took place Tuesday evening, with representatives from Jewish communities across New York City. One of  the topics discussed was the recent wave in hate crimes perpetrated against the Orthodox Jewish community.

The NYPD’s Annual High Holy Day’s Security Briefing was held Tuesday evening at NYPD’s 1 Police Plaza in Manhattan.

The briefing was attended by representatives from Jewish communities across New York City, as well as NYPD Brass and others.

Elected officials including Mayor Bill DeBlasio, and Councilman Chaim Deutsch also attended the briefing. NYPD Chaplain Rabbi Alvin Kass, addressed the crowd, touching on the effect the recent wave of hate crimes have caused.

Cantor Yoel Ausch, an acclaimed chazzon, sang a the event, accompanied by the Shira Choir.
