Didan Notzach! Washington state senate bill 6068 – authorizing religious objection to an autopsy – was approved; the vote was 48 to 2 in favor. The bill was brought to the chamber by a number of Jewish organizations, including Shliach to Tacoma Rabbi Zalman Heber, after the tragic story of Dr. Brian Grobois.
The bill still requires passage by the Washington House of Representatives, as well as the Governor’s signature, before it becomes law.
