Rockets Fired from Lebanon Land in Northern Isreal
The IDF confirmed Monday night that at least three Katyusha rockets have exploded in the Western Galilee near the border with Lebanon. No injuries were reported, but several structures sustained damage.
Meanwhile, police and IDF forces were checking whether a fourth rocket landed in nearby communities.
The head of one of the Western Galilee regional council noted that the explosion occurred in a steep slope with thick vegetation. “We’re not going to go in there right now. Maybe we’ll find it in the morning.” He said.
The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit reported that the military is responding with artillery fire on Lebanon.
The IDF said in a statement that it views the rocket attacks as a severe incident and it holds the Lebanese government and the Lebanese military responsible for preventing such actions.
The IDF Northern Command has gone on full alert and is holding continuous evaluation in light of the events, the statement added.
