Levi Aron on Suicide Watch at Rikers

The man suspected of abducting and killing an 8-year-old boy who was walking home from day camp has been moved to Rikers Island and is on suicide watch, NBC New York has confirmed.

Levi Aron had been at Bellevue Hospital for several weeks, at first to undergo a psychiatric exam after the brutal killing and dismembering.

He pleaded not guilty last week on charges of first-degree murder and kidnapping.

Aron’s lawyers say he hears voices and hallucinates; he was found fit to stand trial last week and his next court date is Oct. 14.

He is accused of drugging Leiby Kletzky before smothering him and chopping up his body.

Kletzky was abducted after he left day camp the afternoon of July 11. He was supposed to walk seven blocks to meet his parents, but got lost and encountered Aron on the street.

Sources tell NBC New York that Aron told detectives he’s famous and that he hears voices in his head that are telling him to take his own life for doing what he did to Kletzky.

    #1: Please don’t make a job out of it. Say that the guy needs to sit in a penitentiary hospital for the rest of his life… that makes more sense… let him live out his days as Pharoah did on Ninveh and maybe when the guy’s 120 yr old, he will cry out to Hashem in earnest, Rabbi Eleazar ben Dordai… That might also be a level of teshuva never heard of before in our present age.

    Why should he sit and rot in jail anD we pay for his upkeep thru our taxes..ya know what.. Let hIm sit in jail and let the other inmates have a “piece” of him..

    Did you read well the news, it costs us YES OUR TAXES PAYING FOR THIS MONSTER $70.000,00/yearly in Rikers Island Jail, with a 24h. guardian, why where’s justice, better going to work and support himself. That monster deserves TORTURE and like #4 is saying self-dismemberment whitout parole!!! Now no more voices but MONSTER WANTED TO BE FAMOUS!! HIS DAY OF PERSECUTION IS COMING UP, NEXT TRIAL, HOPEFULLY!!

    the trial is set for friday oct 14th which is the 2nd day of sukkos.why does the trial have to be on that day when nobody will be able to come anyways?

    If he was taking medication for his schizophrenia the drug might have caused him to have homocidal ideation being that all psychotropic drugs can have that reaction.
