In the Words of a Monster.. [Updated]
These are the suspect’s words as written on a legal pad during questioning, according to law enforcement sources. This transcript has been edited to remove parts of an extremely graphic nature. It has not been edited for clarity.
My name is Levi Aron… On Monday evening around 5:30 I went to my dentist, Dr. Sorcher, to make a payment for visit for exam routine.
A boy approached me on where the Judaica book store was. He was still there when went out from the dentist’s office. He asked me for a ride to the Judaica book store. While on the way he changed his mind and wasn’t sure where he wanted to go.
So I asked if he wanted to go for the ride — wedding in Monsey — since I didn’t think I was going to stay for the whole thing since my back was hurting. He said ok.
Due to traffic, I got back around 11:30 p.m. … so I brought him to my house thinking I’d bring him to his house the next day. He watched TV then fell asleep in the front room. I went to the middle room to sleep. That next morning, he was still sleeping when I was ready to leave.
So I woke him and told him I’ll bring him to his house… when I saw the flyers I panicked and was afraid. When I got home he was still there so I made him a tuna sandwich.
“I was still in a panic … and afraid to bring him home. That is when I went for a towel to smother him in the side room. He fought back a little bit until eventually he stopped breathing.”
Afterwards — I panicked because I didn’t know what to do with the body.… carried parts to the back room placing parts between the freezer and the refrigerator …
… went to clean up a little then took a second shower. I panicked and .. Then putting the parts in a suitcase. Then carrying suitcase to the car …placing in backseat on floor behind passenger side.
… drove around approximately around 20 minutes before placing it in the dumpster on 20th street just before 4th Avenue. Then went home to clean and organize.
I understand this may be wrong and I’m sorry for the hurt that I have caused.
What a load of rubbish.
A man capable of such a crime cannot be believed for a second.

Can this criminal case please be transferred to the Feds to make this monster eligible for the death penalty!
WHAT a liar
nothing he says makes sense. I hope he dies a slow painful death and then never leave the hottest fires of hell.
eli
Levi Aron was probably afraid that if the police found the kidnapped boy Leiby Kletzky alive that leiby would testify that he was sexually molested by levi Aron
melbourne
doesn’t make any sense! he makes it sound like the child was happy & content in his company!i wish it was that simple?! horrifying! Moshiach must bring us answers now!
to #3
my feelings exactly, but let me ask you this and forgive me for being so simpathetic.
1 – a nice little “white boy”
2 – who happends to be jewish.
3 – who kidknapped a 9 yr old butcherd him and dumped him.
do you really think that his fellow inmates in rikers will have as much rachmanus on him like he had on Leiby. will they at least let him sleep through the night before they ………….. need i finish?
it’ll be a nes if he actually makes it to trial under these cercumstances.
one lie to the next...
this may be wrong?????????? beyond nuts… wicked wicked wicked…maybe his back was hurting from what he did? this guys needs the death penalty!!
awacs
“A man capable of such a crime cannot be believed for a second.”
What incentive does he have to lie?
Cho-mo-s are ostracized in prison
As they say on the inside, this guy is a CHO-MO and he will not be accepted anywhere in prison. While he awaits his verdict, I am sure he will be treated as he treated others.

time for the rebbe to come back.our world is falling apart.

He sounds strangely detached, as if describing a routine day at the office. His actions are completely irrational.
He also has crazy eyes. Looking at him, I get the feeling someone else is driving the bus. These kind of people have either a wild look or vacant, dead stare.
(For a good book on psychopaths, I recommend THE MASK OF SANITY.)
hurting
he probably killed him at the get go and that is why Leiby was not reaching out for help (could not).
it makes no sense at all – a little 9 year old would not simply wait around all day for this monster to return home. He was surely dead and in Aron’s sick head he decided to fantasize and fill in the gaps the way he thinks it should’ve been.
unless he had him tied and gagged from the second he got him in his car – that would explain why the poor shayfala could not reach out for help. He surely knew his home phone number or his parents cell numbers and if he was the monster’s “honored guest” in the monster’s house then he would have picked up his phone and called his family – or gone out to the street and asked someone to phone for him. What a monster .. to twist his story to blame the good, wonderful volunteers for his monstrous actions.
sick in his mind
to no 8. he has every reason to lie…to protect his ‘name’ to get pity and sympathy and a reduction in sentence.
or simply to show hes so absolutely deranged that he can plead insane or something.
i dnot believe his words for a single second!
Scary
I have looked at the killer’s picture again and again, wanting to see a hint of madness. A label, a rule of thumb, to tell my kids “these are the types of people to stay away from. These are the types of people who murder and kill little children.”, but looking at his face, I see no indication of a killer. No sign. This is what freaks me out, the relatively sane look masking an insane irrational killers mind living amongst our families, living amongst our children.
chresident
what a load of rubbish and a fat liar. i hope the judge sees right through him and gives him what he deserves. i dont buy that story 1 bit. if he did take him to the wedding what was the big deal to bring him home afterwards? for that matter y didnt he call his mother, an 8 year old knows his home phone #?
Our emunah is being tested
A rodef is a rodef is a rodef, whether he seeks to destory the body or the soul or both.
May Leibby’s blood be avenged and may it serve as an atonement for all of our shortcomings – not the least of which is our failure to deal with such rodefim, whether they be inside or outside of our communities, and for not properly educating our children to recognize and protect themselves from these rodefim. There is such a thing as a healthy sense of distrust.
Our emunah is being tested. Everything happens for the good. The question is – how can we best give meaning to young Leibby’s life in the aftermath of his departure from our midst?
Are we simply going to mourn and sit back and call for Moshiach to come (speedily in our time), in order to fix all of our problems for us? Or, are we going to do, as R’ Nochum of Czernoble says, and each of us “prepare his [own] portion of Moshiach” and thereby fashion a world worthy to bring forth HaMelech?
If you were Moshiach, would you really want to reveal yourself right now?
#14, you-re correct!
#14, you’re correct! We can only develop in our children a healthy sense of distrust, because we all have a yetzer hara and we all wear a mask that hides it.
The rodefim are masters of disguise and frequently use mitzvot to place their victims at ease. Why pursue, if you can lure?
It also wouldn’t hurt to teach our children how to physically defend themselves. (I’m speaking as a former law enforcement officer). There are numerous programs out there taught by certified self-defense (and law enforcement) instructors. Often, these programs are free and they’ll gladly come to you, if you can’t go to them.
That said, the first line of defense against these rodefim is proactive parenting and the second is giving each child a heightened sense of awareness about the realities they might well face in a world gone insane. Sugarcoating our communities, while villainizing the outsiders only perpetuates a false sense of security in our youth.
No, we can’t always hold their hand. That’s why we must train them to be prepared to overcome – and not simply avoid – these rodefim. It is said that a true melech walks without fear of the rodef.
moshiach now
its very simple-if he went to the wedding someone will surely remember seeing him in monsy-why not see if he went with leiby to the weddingaccording to his story he asked leiby if he wants to go and he said ok
have compassion
Actually I believe him. He was mentally unstable, remember? Serious errors in judgement one after the other. Even his ex-wife said that he was a very hard working man who loved his kids and tried to keep them in their apartment.
The tragedy is two-fold:
(1) A Yiddishe boy was killed r’l
(2) A Yiddishe man is mentally ill
He needs to stay in jail for the rest of his life, but as protection to the community — not revenge. We need to have compassion for every Yid — even for this one who did something terrible.

Do you realize the human strength it takes to start shechting a human body. Even at the first point of drawing blood, a normal human being would cringe, let alone sawing away at skin, ligaments, muscle tissue, nerves and thick bone. This person is a vilde chaya inside, he must be transferred right now to the Federal Authorities and moved out of state to get the electric chair. He’s no good to himself or to the world. He is AMALEK in disguise. No less.
stop reacting and think for a minute
This is a terrble terrible tragedy which words cannot describe… we should never need to describe such tragedy ever again. And the reality is that people are angry, and hurting and don’t understand. Lashing out at the the perp is the first reaction… but think about it- This is a DOUBLE TRAGEDY. TWO FAMILIES were devastated by this news. He is a RACHMUNIS- MENTALLY NOT WELL! Enough wishing hell and death and god knows what on him. He has probably been living in some type of hell until now- he is clearly NOT NORMAL we dont need to discuss it further. Trust me, his life in prison won’t be too happy, either. Do we say “Hashem should avenge their blood” when the murderer was Jewish? Stop and think. Anger and pain will not help the situation. He is somebody’s son. The Aaron family also “lost” a son this week- he was obviously never normal, but to know that their son coudl do something like this….
Hashem decided what punishment should go to whom. He is the true judge, and he can take care of those who needs it more than our curses, our facebook posts and our angry comments can.
LEt’s try to focus on what we can do in memory of Leibby Kletzky- the Rebbe has always stressed adding more goodness and light in the wake of terrible news. Is our hatred adding more light? I doubt it. Add Mitzvos, Take on new Hachlatos, do something good in memory of Leibby. Let Hashem take care of Levi Aron.

Talk of “out of one’s mind”!!! These “voices” that he claims he had is just an “UNCONTROLLABLE URGE” to finally subconsciously come out of the closet and do something so extreme that has been locked in his mind since childhood. I had an incident a few years back, my 90 year old father’s brother, who was in his last dying days, and who was 92, out of nowhere, decided to take a HAMMER and beat my father over the head, and he actually took a jolt into his head causing a loss of blood and stitches. Shortly after that the brother passed away, but had his ugly fantasy come to the surface. Signs of this need immediate psychotherapy etc. Still, for a 35 yr old to claim he panicked, is a big lie. He loved every minute as if raping someone……….sorry to say.
A DISAPPOINTED CHASID!
we will be lucky if Charles Hynes gets a conviction! maybe he will because the … admitted his crime but why continue to give publicity to this,,…??!!
Adam
Oh, I see. He was mentally Ill. So It wasn’t his fault. Maybe we should help him.
You know, I am sitting in prison because of a stupid zero tolerance law. Ye I hit someone after I drank…. I shouldn’t have….
But it wasn’t my fault! 1) I was under the influence of alcohol when I crashed into the little girl, and 2) I know I should have given the keys to someone else before drinking, but since I have ADD I was mixed up and I forgot to give away the keys… So its not my fault! I have ADD!
rediculous
#19-omg-u are sooo rediculous. He might be insane but he knew right from wrong and surely knew how to keep a job.So yes he is insane and that is why the term “criminally insane” and sometimes I try and leave my compassion for the VICTIMS. rememebr the victims?????
YOSSI
I’ve examined this criminal’s eyes, and there’s a look of a vulture, ready to come down and attack his prey. This beast of a man must have sometime in his life eaten non-kosher fowl or chazar and did not do proper teshuva. Just cause he went to shul 3 times a day, doesn’t mean a thing. He will never ever be let out of his cage now. By the way, what the heck is Rubashkin suffering in jail for? It’s people like this yemach shmo killer who deserve to switch spots.
#21, I agree in part
#21 wrote – “Do we say ‘Hashem should avenge their blood’ when the murderer was Jewish?”
Yid or Goy, sane or not, the man listened to his inner-Amalek and showed himself to be a rodef and thereby has opened himself to society’s din. What is this life but a test in emunah? This self-confessed rodef failed that test. Will we?
Leave racahmim to HaShem. Leave this rodef to be purged in Gehenna. No amount of “guardingship” (imprisonment) or soul searching or psychological counseling or Thorazine is going to bring this rodef to genuine teshuvah or tikkun nefesh. He’s crossed the line.
That said, everything happens for the good even when we can’t (or when we refuse to) preceive it. More often than not, HaKodesh Baruch Hu is waiting for us to bring forth the good out of the seeming vicissitudes of life.
R’ Dovid Leikus (a disciple of the Baal Shem Tov), who was beset by many tragedies and lost his wife and several children, says like this, “… a human being is very dear, more precious than heavenly angels. Wherever he is, in this world or the next, the Divine light shines over him. There is no agony, no evil, no travail, only Divine goodness. We must obey the rituals of mourning as prescribed by the Shulchan Aruch, but with true emunah in HaShem’s infinite benevolence, we need not feel sad.”
I wish that I had R’ Dovid’s emunah! Let’s leave this rodef to the din that he chose and – agreeing with #21 – let’s focus on what we can do in memory of Leibby Kletzky and bring forth goodness and light.
yitzi cohen
i think that all it takes for somone to do something like that is ONE MOMENT OF INSANITY nothing to do with nature or character
oyy
such a sick man. you have to be a complete idiot to beleive his little sob story. what a rachmunis that hes a jew. my heart goes out to leibys family. moshiach now!
Reader
Number 28, you’ve written a brilliant piece. Your writing shows your mastery of quiet different fields. I highly suspect you are Tzvi Freeman
FROM #21 TO #25 and 26
NO nobody normal would ever suggest that the cold blooded murder of an innocent kid can EVER be forgiven, forgotten or accepted. We all agree that Aron (and those like him) must be behind bars for LIFE. Furthermore, Rabonim and Askonim must stop defending/hiding/ shipping these pervs off to Israel when a molestor IS uncovered- it can lead to terrible things like this.
All i am saying is that he is in the hands of the feds-they will take care of him. And even more importantly, He is in the hands of HAshem Who we always trust to bring justice to those who deserve it. WE cannot accomplish anythign positive by fixating on this mentally not well, evil person. Pregnant women are not supposed to visit zoos while expecting, because everything one sees has some type of effect on them, and in the case of an expecting woman, on the baby as well. What are we gaining by focusing on this person and all his ugly shortcomings ? What are we gaining by having his face plastered all over the place? Again, no one is saying CV that he should be defended. He is not well- but that is not a defense- its just a statement.
What does Hashem want us to do in such a case? If we are hurting- do something positive. Add light. Learn Mshnayos for Leibby- do Mitzovs- do somethihng taht will bring some type of Nechama to his suffering family. TWO YIDDEN fell on that terrible day. Levi Aron is unhelpable- he is going where he needs to go. Leibby’s neshama can use our attention more.
DONT JUST REACT TO THE PAIN by obssessing over this crazy guy. DO WHAT IS RIGHT- FOLLOW THE REBBES WAY and at least may SOME bit of LIGHT come about because of this craziness. Maybe, just maybe, it will end this Golus and we will never ever know such suffering again.
Adam
okay 32 I do now see your point. Its just in protest to liberal rachmanus on predators that I had to expose the source of their corrupt logic (its not my fault i have ADD)(Poor Hitler he suffered from mental illness so we must have compassion for him)
You got me thinking: He was born a yid. Yes, a rodef, and chose with his free will to gain pleasure from harming others – perhaps at an earlier time which alowed the evil to take control –
Since he is/was a yid, somewhere within him a neshama screams for what he’s done. I once violated shabbos and I want to kill myself for it ever since. Now I imagine what if it were violating a holy child? I’d whish my face draged on pavement with my feet towed by a car!!!! can you imagine what that neshama is going through????
Chas visholem am I saying to forgive. But I do hear you when you say that hate for this person may not be what God wants from us. Perhaps if we truly felt the real underlying pain we would scream to god and not need our consciousness to express that pain through hate.
By the way I know firsthand a person who did harm to a child, and now everyday of his life he is crushed by a guilt that nobody should ever go through. He is so not the same person he used to be. He confided in me and told me that his sole motivation to live is just so that he could marry off his last kid but then that’s it. I’m not saying tshuva is possible; I’m saying that there are SOME cases where forgiveness IS possible, where there is a very true change.
So all we could do is cry to God, not focus on the hate, and do whats called for to end this gezeirah
