Foreman Beaten in a 6-Round-Bout

LAS VEGAS [AP] — Yuri Foreman, the aspiring rabbi-to-be who briefly held a piece of the 154-pound title, took a beating Saturday night at the hands of Pawel Wolak and lost for the second straight time.

Yuri Foreman returned to the ring for the first time since losing to Cotto but made it through only six rounds against Pawel Wolak. Foreman lost all six rounds on the ringside scorecards and had taken a beating in the previous two rounds when his corner called an end to the fight after the sixth round.

“I just didn’t feel it tonight,” said Foreman, a rabbi-in-training. “There were no surprises, but I just didn’t have it.”

Wolak, who improved to 29-1, applied pressure from the opening bell and Foreman didn’t have any answer for him. By the fifth round he was taking big punches to the head and couldn’t keep Wolak away from him.

Foreman, who won his first 28 fights before losing the last two, said he would rest before deciding about his future.
