Alleged Shooter of Yoseph Robinson to be Arraigned

NY1 — A Brooklyn man is awaiting arraignment today on charges in last week’s deadly shooting of a liquor store clerk in Midwood, Brooklyn.

Eion Klass, 33, seen above, was arrested yesterday in the shooting death of Yoseph Robinson and charged with murder and criminal weapons possession.

He was released from prison less than a year ago after serving 11 years for robbery and attempted murder.

Police say he confessed to the shooting after trying to escape while being questioned at the 70th Precinct stationhouse.

“When he was being brought in, the handcuffs were being taken off him and then he attempted to escape,” said Police Commissioner Ray Kelly. “A struggle ensued, he was obviously taken back into custody.”

Police say Klass was the man seen in in surveillance video attempting to rob the MB Vineyards liquor store in Midwood last Thursday.

They say Robinson was trying to protect his girlfriend when he was shot.

Robinson was a former hip-hop producer who preached of his conversion to Orthodox Judaism, saying it changed his life.
