Prosecutors dropped thousands of child labor charges against two defendants from an Iowa kosher slaughterhouse and allowed the company to plead guilty to amended charges.

Prosecutors dropped the charges Tuesday against former Agriprocessors Inc. owner Aaron Rubashkin and human resources employee Laura Althouse.

Former Agriprocessors manager Sholom Rubashkin – the owner’s son – still faces 83 charges in a trial that will begin with jury selection on Tuesday afternoon in District Court in Waterloo.

I didn’t know there was still another trial in the works for Rabbi Sholom Mordechai ha Kohen ben Rivkah!

While this significant drop in charges is of course good news, it’s frightening to hear there is yet another trial coming here for the already severely beleaguered Rabbi!

    Please Hashem, have mercy!
