Chaim V’Chessed: Changes to U.S. Embassy Delivery Services in Israel

The U.S. Embassy in Israel has announced that, beginning August 1, 2025, a new courier provider will take over all document and passport delivery services across Israel, replacing the current delivery service.

This change marks a significant shift in the delivery system. While it is disturbing that such a major change is being implemented with limited advance notice, it’s worth noting that there have been many complaints regarding the performance of HFD, the current service provider, during their relatively short time in operation.

Important Transition Dates:

  • Drop-Off Services via HFD will end on:
    • July 27 at all premium locations
    • July 29 at free Tel Aviv and Jerusalem locations
    • July 28 at the Ramallah location
  • Pick-Up Services will continue until:
    • July 31 at free Tel Aviv and Jerusalem locations
    • August 12 at premium locations

Starting August 1: New Service Options

  • Premium Delivery (120 NIS fee):
    • Zig Zag in Israel
    • Aramex in the West Bank
  • Free Pick-Up Locations:
    • Tel Aviv: VFS Ltd, BSR 4, 9th Metsada St., Bnei Brak
    • Jerusalem: VFS/Aramex, Al Emam Muslim St., Beit Hanina (Eastern Jerusalem)
    • Ramallah: VFS/Aramex, Wall Street Building, Al Maahed St., Al Masyoun

There is consternation among members of the Anglo community over the absence of a pickup location in western Jerusalem. Until an additional location is added, Jerusalem residents who do not wish to travel to Beit Hanina in East Jerusalem will have no option but to pay for Premium Delivery. Chaim V’Chessed is currently in contact with the U.S. Embassy to advocate for the addition of a pickup location in western Jerusalem.

If you paid for Premium Delivery via the outgoing vendor (BundlePay.io) and the service is not completed by July 31, the vendor will issue a refund.

It is expected that there will be complications and possibly delays while the new courier service begins operating. For questions or assistance, contact https://ustraveldocs.com/il/en/
