Following Shabbos, CrownHeights.info presents a breakdown of what took place in Eretz Yisroel, and its attacks on Iran over Shabbos.
IN ISRAEL
– At present, the death toll in Israel stands at 6, all from Ballistic missile impacts. Approximately 100 people have been injured, mostly moderately and lightly.
– Prior to Shabbos, Iran had fired some 200 missiles at Israel, Most of the missiles were intercepted by air defenses. The military says that around 25%, less than 50, were not intercepted “according to protocol,” allowing them to strike open areas without causing damage to any critical infrastructure.
– A “small number” of missiles made it through air defenses, the IDF says, and caused casualties and damage, including in residential areas in Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, and Rishon Lezion in central Israel.
– The missiles carry warheads of hundreds of kilograms of explosives, and are considered to be a much greater threat than the drones launched by Iran, which are mostly intercepted before reaching Israel.
– The IDF Home Front Command has analyzed the major Iranian ballistic missile impacts in civilian areas overnight and this morning, finding that those who were in bomb shelters were largely unharmed. The Home Front Command says that in the case of a high-rise tower in Tel Aviv, the missile struck the 9th floor, destroying several apartments, but the bomb safe rooms sustained the impact hundreds of civilians were unharmed or only lightly hurt. In Ramat Gan, a relatively old home without a bomb safe room was directly hit by a missile. However, those who entered a basement under the building were unharmed.
– The military says that all of its bases, including air bases, are operating as usual with no harm to their functionality.
– Over shabbos, a wave of missiles shot from Iran targeted the city of Tamra, with one missile making impact on a home. Three people were killed in the impact with another 14 injured.
IN IRAN
– Over Shabbos, Israel continued to systematically dismantle Iran’s capabilities, striking anti-aircraft emplacements and targeting ballistic missile infrastructure.
– For the first time in this war, Israeli fighter jets flew over Tehran, targeting sites in Iran’s capital city.
– The Israeli Air Force bombed the Shahran oil depot near Tehran. Images show the vast oil reserves burning. Multiple oil refineries and depots have been attacked and are burning.
