Trump Admin Threatens to Withhold SNAP Benefits from New Yorkers Unless The State Hands Over Recipient Information
The Trump administration has threatened to cut off New Yorkers’ SNAP benefits if it doesn’t receive recipients’ data from state leaders.
USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins issued the stark warning for dozens of states that don’t join its effort to tighten the nation’s SNAP program.
“So as of next week, we have begun and will begin to stop moving federal funds into those states until they comply,” she said. “And they tell us and allow us to partner with them to root out this fraud and to protect the American taxpayer.”
