A Hasidic milkman was brutally beaten and robbed in a Brooklyn synagogue as he arrived for prayers early yesterday, police said.

Mier Rosen, 57, a dairy delivery truck driver, walked a few doors down from his home on Bedford Avenue to the Brei Mordchi of Cleveland synagogue at 2:48 a.m. to take a mikvah — a ritual purification bath — before attending morning prayers when a robber lurking on the premises attacked him.

The brazen thug lunged toward Rosen in the mikvah room and repeatedly hit him in the head with a lead pipe, police said.

According to congregants at the synagogue, Rosen offered to give his money to the assailant to stop attacking him. He then handed over $4,000.

The robber then fled. It appears nothing was stolen from the synagogue.

Rosen was taken to Bellevue Hospital where he was in stable condition.

  • Inside Job

This was an inside job, the same guy was beaten on shabbos after his streimel was taken from him in the Mikve. It has to do with the Eruv.

Please we have enough of our own problems in our part of town. We don’t need to follow whats happening else where. This website is meant to contain news about Crown Heights. The NY Post does not mention Crown Heights there

to "inside job": why cant we know whats going on elsewhere? this site is "Exclusive" to crown heights, meaning that IF and WHEN something happens in CH it will be on this website. it does not mean that all the news on this website has to be ONLY Crown Heights News. another point, Bedford Ave is not so far from CH either so in a way it can also mean something to us as CH residents.
    anywayz, moshiach now

If bedford Ave is so close to Crown Heights, then Move there. Then tell me how close you still feel to Crown Heights.

You can know whats going on else where, just buy a newspaper or go online to the local news websites. I just feel that this site stepped out of the guidelines they set up by reporting this story. They claim to report on Exclusive Chabad stories and CH news that you would not otherwise know from the other chabad websites.

  • You are all wrong I am right

I never saw any guidelines as to what this site is going after or not. And I never saw any claim to have anything exclusive [even though there was loads of stuff].

And I am seeing a pattern of violence towards Jews in general, this site is portraying it very nicely. There was that case of the stone being thrown at the Jewish car coming back from Mivtzoim, that happened on Nostrand and Fulton (which btw. Is crown heights look it up) and is very close to where the Bedford incident happened.

Why are you so against having news posted on this site? This story relates to the escalating pattern of racial violence, it must be made known.

From Somware On The World Wide Web:

He was apparently beaten by a black man who continued to beat him after offering to give him money.

This individual was also treated on Shabbos. He is an outspoken critic of the Eiruv in Williamsburg, and he was threatened on many occassions. Based on the facts the police believe that he was a direct victim of a planned attack.

He used his hands and arms to shield his head and has severe crushing of the fingers and lower arm. His skull was also cracked but there does not seem to be any internal bleeding at this time.

hey i dont know if a am chabad or not or whatever you want to call me but what i do know is that i am jewish and i do care about other jews so crown heights.onfo should keep up it’s good work

whats all the commotion all about?
Why are people getting so angree?

the point was made very clear; we made stop the violence.

to "re: chfb wrote" I think "fb" means "from birth" as in "Crown Heights from birth."

    BS”D
Crown Heights – not Crown Heights… Chabad – not Chabad..
What is the differense? We are all Jews. Location is a relative term. When one of us is hurt in CH, on Bedford, on Nostrand, or in Mumbai – we are all hurt…
