Maimonides Medical Center in the Boro Park section of Brooklyn remains one of the most used hospitals for the Crown Heights Jewish community, and after three years, they have finally relaxed most of their COVID restrictions.

Maimonides Medical Center today announced that based on recent guidance from both the Department of Health (DOH) and Greater New York Hospital Association (GNYHA), they would be making the following changes to the hospital’s visitation policy effective immediately.

– Vaccination status / negative COVID-19 testing are no longer required to visit or accompany a patient into the Medical Center.
– Temperature checks will no longer be conducted for visitors.
– New signage at the entrances advises visitors to avoid entering the hospital if they are showing symptoms of cold / flu / COVID-19.
– One visitor will be permitted at bedside overnight, outside of regular visiting hours.

After years of difficulties, these changes are a breath of fresh air, allowing many family members easier access to assisting their loved ones in their time of need.
