Two Grants Currently Available for New York State Businesses

There are two grants currently available for New York State businesses, the “Recovery Grant” offering $5k-$50k to eligible businesses, and a “Seed Funding Grant” offering $5k-$25k to eligible businesses.

Funds will likely be depleted quickly!

Recovery Grant: $5k-$50k
For businesses that began before 3/1/2019.
This grant has been around for a while, however two rules were recently changed making MANY more businesses eligible:
1) Net profit in 2019 is no longer a requirement.
2) 25% reduction from 2019 to 2020 is no longer a requirement.

Seed Funding: $5k-$25k
This is a new grant for businesses that started after 9/1/2018 (but at least six months ago).
You are not eligible for Seed Funding if you already received the Recovery Grant

Choose Your Grant Carefully
As mentioned, there are two potential grants:
Recovery Grant: For businesses that opened before 3/1/2019
Seed Funding: For businesses that opened after 9/1/2018

If your business started between 9/1/2018 and 3/1/2019, you can check which grant will give the higher grant amount. Recovery is 10% of 2019 income, max 50k. Seed Funding is 10% of 2020 or 2021 return, max 25k (or $5k if the business did not yet file a return).

You are not eligible for Seed Funding if you already received funding from Recovery Grant.
