A Community Danger Requires A Community Response

by CrownHeights.info

An old danger has resurfaced in the United States that had ravaged the children of the world for generations. Polio, a virus that can leave people paralyzed, was detected in the NYC city for the first time in decades.

The fear that polio brought to the world can still be remembered many years later despite the fact that it was nearly eradicated from the US after an aggressive vaccination campaign. Now, decades later, it has returned, and many are unprepared.

Last month, the news broke that a case of Polio was detected in an unvaccinated resident of Rockland County. The person, who was brought to the hospital after displaying symptoms, is now wheelchair bound, and the fear is that many others, if unvaccinated may soon follow suit.

While it remains that only one case of Polio has been discovered, detection of the virus in NYC’s sewage has given rise to the concern that it is in fact making it’s rounds in the city, putting many children and even adults at risk.

A campaign by EMES, an organization that promotes health, has been launched aiming at raising awareness of the virus and its vaccine.

I remember those days well. As a child there were literally no precautions we could take or any cure.. Random people ended up with permanent leg braces or useless arms or worse! It was such a relief when we were finally able to get vaccinated.

My mother AH was an occupational therapist working in a nursing home. In 1961,, when I was 10-years-old, she brought me to work with her. There I met a nice polio-stricken man, bedbound, in an iron lung to breathe. An aide held a cigarette so he could smoke. A 19-year-old newlywed tried to do a puzzle and fix her hair but it hurt too much.. Get this vax!

The polio that has resurfaced is a version of polio from the modified live vaccine given in other countries. USA only gives killed polio vaccine which avoids this issue. The polio that reappeared is not the wild polio which was irradicated but is a mutation from live polio vaccine. Please look into things before believing all you hear

I also lived thru the polio epidemic
We lived in fear and I wasn’t allowed anywhere. We got the vaccine in school and parents were thrilled
The ignorance of the anti vaxxers has brought us to this place. We are at risk now for paralysis and worse. I saw this coming and hate being right
    Vaccinate before it’s too late

Sadly, the medical establishment has lost all credibility due to the disastrous handling of the pandemic.
