UPPAbaby Announces Recall On Vista Accessory

by CrownHeights.info

The UPPAbaby Vista, perhaps the most common stroller used in the Jewish community, has had a voluntary recall announced on RumbleSeat adaptors sold prior to July 2019.

“Our top priority at UPPAbaby is the safety of children,” UPPAbaby wrote in its recall announcement. “We are committed to delivering products that are easy to use and provide the utmost in safety, function and convenience. We continuously review product designs to provide consumers with the best product and user experiences.”

Despite passing all its tests and meeting all standards, there have been multiple reports of RumbleSeat adapters sold prior to July 2019 detaching from strollers if the latch is misaligned upon installation or from a child forcefully kicking the seat from behind.

Some children have become injured after the RumbleSeat, which sits in the front of the in-line configuration of the Vista, detached from the frame and fell face down on the ground.

According to UPPAbaby, they received 135 allegations of detachments, including 77 incidents resulting in bumps and scrapes, and two reports of broken noses.

The recall announced includes the adaptors included in with the RumbleSeat accessory manufactured between September 2014 and July 2019, and will be replaced by UPPAbaby.

Approximately 18,118 of the RumbleSeat accessory adapters were manufactured from September 2014 to December 2016 and approximately 68,000 additional adapters from December 2016 to July 2019.

For an easy to spot sign if your adaptors are affected, look to see if there is a yellow tab on the adaptor. If there is, then the adapter is not affected. If it does not have a yellow tab, consumer should stop using the recalled RumbleSeat accessory adapters and fill out the form here to receive a free replacement adapter set.
