UK Parliament Passes Boris Johnson’s Brexit Deal, Heads For Royal Signature

The British parliament on Wednesday voted overwhelmingly in favor of Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s Brexit deal with the European Union after four years of tortured negotiations.

The bill was backed by the House of Commons 521 to 73 and sets out new trade relations between the two regions four years after the UK voted to divorce the European Union in 2016.

The majority of Labour lawmakers voted in favor of the agreement after leader Sir Keir Starmer said a “thin deal was better than no deal.”
