New Jersey Struck by 3.1-Magnitude Earthquake, Felt in New York City

A magnitude-3.1 earthquake was reported at approximately 2:00am Wednesday morning, shaking the state in the rare event.

The quakes epicenter was centered around one mile from Freehold, New Jersey, with the tremors felt as far as New York City.

The rare earthquake for the area was reported by many, with one person posting to social media that “I thought a truck was passing by my house but I didn’t really hear anything outside.”

There was no damage or injuries reported due to the earthquake.
